In 33 hands-on lessons, set up an agent that prepares your morning brief, meeting prep, follow-ups, decision log and weekly review. It reads only what it needs, and nothing goes out until you approve it.
What you will be able to do
- A job description your agent can follow: Write standing instructions for your AI chief of staff: your priorities, your stakeholders, the sources it may read, what it may do alone, what it must ask about first and what it must never do. They live in one master document you control.
- A platform that works for your situation: Pick a tool that fits your region, plan and work account. If OpenAI dots or Claude Duet aren't open to you, you'll have a fallback that works, such as Claude or ChatGPT scheduled tasks, Microsoft 365 Copilot or Gemini in Workspace.
- Connections with the least access that works: Connect work email, calendar and one shared log folder read-only. Other clients' data, NDA material in tools the client hasn't approved, HR files and personal accounts stay out.
- A sourced morning brief and Friday review: Schedule a weekday brief and a Friday weekly review. Every item carries a source tag, the agent's own reasoning is marked as inference, and anything it couldn't open is listed under 'Could not check'.
- Meeting notes turned into drafts and proposed rows: Turn notes into a recap draft, proposed decision-log rows and delegation-tracker rows. When an owner or date wasn't said in the meeting, it's marked 'not stated', not guessed.
- A tested setup you can judge on evidence: Run a prompt-injection drill and a permission audit. Then use two weeks of scores to decide which routines to keep, widen or cut.
