A hands-on course for attorneys, paralegals and in-house teams: set up Manus with the least access that works, brief it on memos, chronologies and contract reviews, and verify the results at the source.
What you will be able to do
- Decide whether Manus fits a matter: Work through plan, credits, regional availability, the data-training terms of each plan, and your firm's and client's approval. Then confirm the current terms on Manus's official pages, because they change.
- Set up a workspace with the least access that works: Use a Team plan with SSO for client work, read-only connector scopes, Allow Once for local commands and Skip confirmations left off. Learn what must never go into an unapproved workspace, such as privileged or identifying client material.
- Brief long tasks so the important questions stay visible: Write a long-task brief and a Project master instruction that set out your role, the client's position, jurisdiction, permitted sources, approval checkpoints and output format. Then approve or edit Manus's plan in Plan Mode before it builds anything.
- Produce four legal work products: Build a research memo with a citation table, a source-linked chronology that flags conflicts, an issues list checked against your negotiation playbook, and a plain-language client briefing deck. In each one, allegations stay separate from established facts.
- Run a weekly digest and share work safely: Schedule a regulatory-change digest from named public sources, then share work through Team access and Guest reviewer seats. An attorney approves anything before it is sent or published.
- Check the output before it is used: Replay the session, open the cited sources, verify every authority in a proper legal research source, rebuild key figures, and keep a written log of anything you could not verify.
