Build an input status register and a pre-release check that show the status and date of every management pack input, so estimates and un-updated accruals are flagged before the pack goes out.

What you will be able to do

  • Know what every input really is: Tell final, provisional, estimate and unconfirmed inputs apart, and classify the inputs in your own pack, such as last week's sales estimate or a provisional accrual.
  • Build an input status register: Create one row per pack input with its source, owner, reporting period, currency, units, status and the date it was last confirmed.
  • Flag stale figures automatically: Set staleness rules for each type of input based on your close calendar, and write spreadsheet formulas that flag out-of-date inputs and period, currency or units mismatches.
  • Run a pre-release check before circulation: Produce an exception list of every stale, provisional or unconfirmed input, check that every pack figure maps to a register row, and record that the check was run.
  • Decide, label and record each flagged input: Choose whether to confirm, label or hold, mark provisional and estimated figures consistently in tables, charts and commentary, and log who decided and why.
  • Add an AI-assisted check with human review: Prompt an approved AI tool to compare register statuses and dates with the pack, review every exception it reports, spot-check what it marks as clean, and keep customer and counterparty names out of the extract.
